Bransgore Parish Church
The Bransgore parish church of St. Mary the Virgin is located in the village of Bransgore. It was built in 1822, one of the so-called "Million" churches funded from £1,000,000 set aside by the government to build churches in poor rural areas.
The original church was shaped like a shoe-box with eight windows and a tower. Significant restoration and enlargement followed in 1873 and the church was altered to its present shape.
The parish web site has a detailed history and description of the church.
